Welcome to my signature website encompassing my creative lines. The site features my photography, art, craft, one-of-a-kind jewelry, design projects, and thoughts resulting from my life events... obsessive perhaps...
It is a constantly evolving site that just may capture your senses visually and emotionally. Through a wide range of images and words I invite you to be a part of my world- where happiness and pain co-exist, where the importance of friendships are realized, and simple things are simply wonderful!
I am a transplant from Ohio now discovering new paths along the Southeast shores from Savannah Georgia to sunny Florida. It is truly a laid back world where nothing moves too fast, days are typically filled with sunshine and evening skies are ablaze! There is quite a lot to discover in this region so there will be many images and interesting articles to add as adventures continue!
Images of past travels coast to coast and international adventures will be included- historical landmarks- forts and cemeteries, haunted pubs, and architectural beauties of days past.
Included in the site's new development will be a special section dedicated to the military veterans of the past and veterans of today. Five years ago I became a member of the American Legion as a vehicle to help veterans and their families. I came upon my own agenda to help in a small way- initially thru my photography. I attended veteran events capturing the nameless with faces and emotion of bravery and comradeship that often goes unnoticed in the general public's eyes. My photos from public events capture humanity caught in the politics of democracy as brother, sister, mother, father.....our fellow souls. They are you, they are me.
I have voluntarily been the web designer and writer for Post 154, Tybee Island Georgia, for 5 years. The site is a wealth of research and articles I have written about our military history. There are interviews with vets sharing their intrinsic path with me. In turn, I write of their path while paralleling our history of that time.
Recently I was asked why does history matter? It is, I believe, a teaching tool from our past to learn from our mistakes or perhaps grow with our successes.
That is just the beginning of what you will be discovering on my site- think of it as a collection of creative diverse paths that twist, turn, and stay moving in one direction- forward! .....
Our life's paths have created the people we are today... even if you have been presented a bad situation always remember to take the fork in the path, the upper path!
- you really do have a choice.
I hope viewing the pages within you just may think about why I included them in my online portfolio and to think about your self- to become mindful of others at work and play, to reach out to struggling souls, to discover and embrace simplicity.
enjoy this ride.... it is oh so short
Thank you for sharing my path.
As mentioned above, I have volunteered my graphic design services to the Tybee Island American Legion, Post 154, for the past 5 years. Along with creating ads for their community dinners and events
In 2018 I introduced a new approach to their site, an electronic magazine, featuring military history which includes a series of interviews I have conducted with veterans from past wars and conflicts. Within the interviews are time lines of events intrinsic to their path of that time period.
All of the articles and interviews will soon be placed on this site. Until I get them posted on this site, please visit the link above to read about these brave souls that gave me a moment in time and a glimpse into their past. Or, open the pdf at left to begin reading about Jimmy Carter, Tybee Island GA, US Marine, who was part of the first combat troops stationed at the Da Nang Airstrip in Vietnam.
